This proposed extension was designed to comply with the permitted development rules for larger extensions to detached houses.  The proposed extension takes reference from orangery typologies, moving away from the white painted render walls of the existing mid-20th Century house to reducing the visual mass of the 8 metre extension with a reclaimed red brick façade broken with Crittal-style steel framed windows.  A copper coloured zinc roof creates an architectural object in a single tone and colour.
